“That stuff is cold, man,” said Omar, tensing up his muscles as Jaime spread the blue goo all over his body, “Feels funny.”
“Well we’re just doing your torso today,” said Jaime, skillfully applying the goo over the curves of Omar’s chest, “Maybe your hands and arms if you’ll let me. Legs tomorrow. And we’ll do your face last. That’s usually the toughest part.”
“Well, man,” said Omar, “It’s like I said. You can do it all, as long as I get paid for it all.”
“Oh, don’t worry about that,” said Jaime, “I already got your first paycheck signed and ready to give to you after we’re done here today. Getting to cast a body like yours – I’m not gonna mess around. You’ll get your money. It’s well worth it to me.”
“Yeah,” said Omar, nervously trying to make conversation, “So, um, how long – I mean after you’re done ‘casting’ – how long does it take to actually make the suit?”
“Couple of weeks,” Jaime said, gently turning Omar around and spreading the goo across his smooth back, “Depends. With you, I’m gonna take my time. Get all the details right. This cast is gonna make one hell of a suit. I can just tell.”
“Oh,” said Omar, blushing at the compliment, “So do you, uh, try them on before you sell them?”
“Each and every one of ‘em!” chuckled Jaime, “Just to ensure proper fit, of course. Then they’re shipped right out to the highest bidder.”
The thought of someone else walking around in a replica of his body, looking exactly like him, made Omar slightly uneasy. But if if it was like they said, and the right bidder bought the suit – he would be set for life. Or he could choose to rent out the suit, bringing in a huge paycheck every time somebody checked his body out for a fantasy weekend, or whatever they wanted.
“You doin’ OK, buddy?” Jaime asked, smoothing out the goo into an even layer, “Think we’re just about done here. Just gotta let it dry now. Then we’re gonna get this stuff off of you and start makin’ a suit!”
