Donor
It was a simple technique that had been developed after years of medical research. Intended to help the sick and injured. It was a small electrical device implanted into a donor's palm that allowed a healthy body part to be duplicated into the body of a sick or injured person. It has amazing results where people needed heart or lung transplants and for people had lost limbs as the result of war and the like. It of course had identity theft written all over it and consequently was strictly controlled. There was of course the odd rogue trader out there who sold body parts for a living. Knowing they would never be able to get caught as they would simply exchange their own 'parts' with that of a completely innocent person. The system on a medical level was completely unprotected and allowed people with the implant in their hand to pass on the technology to any body else as if a donors hand contained an implant and they duplicated it to someone else then the recipients hand would also contain the implant. Also when two people had an implant they could exchange body parts they could even exchange entire bodies.
The 'rogue' market was mainly for people who were in happy with their cosmetic looks and if you were willing to pay then you could have the million dollar looks everyone dreamed of. It was only complicated when people had specific orders. If someone wanted to have the face of a famous footballer then the donor would have to get close enough to that footballer, duplicate their hand onto the footballers body and then swap their faces, they couldn't allow a duplicate face of a famous person, so the system was set up so that every image of that footballer was changed to match their new image. The only people that would know about whose face it used to belong too was the donor and the recipient. It was a look that someone was creating.
