The Ride
You really get to know someone on a long drive, much more than on a plane ride when the person next to you tends to watch a movie or read a book or pretends to sleep in order to avoid contact, and the whole trip is over in a few hours. Trains used to be my travel option of choice. You could spend days getting acquainted, and the private sleeping cars were perfect for my purposes. But times change, and I have adapted.
If there's one thing shape-shifters know, it's how to adapt.
Some people feel that hitchhiking is just too dangerous, and that you can never be sure what kind of person you're riding with.
That's why it's valuable to be able to read your companion's mind.
And as for being dangerous...well, I have yet to encounter anyone who I couldn't handle.
One of the perks of being able to change your appearance at will when you're hitchhiking is that you can tailor your image for maximum appeal to those most likely to offer you a lift. I had been wandering the midwest for the past six months and was yearning to see the ocean again, so I began thumbing my way westward. To improve my odds, I very rarely pose as a man. Even the meekest, most harmless looking nerd can be perceived as a potential serial killer when standing alone on the dusty gravel shoulder on a bleak Nebraska afternoon. Perhaps it's unfair, but I have also discovered that drivers also assume that a man should be able to figure his own way out of whatever jam he finds himself in without anyone else's help. That's why, when I'm traveling, I generally choose to look female.
At least to start.

Sam’s Adventure: Remodeled
Sam was a decent looking young man with a quick wit, above average intelligence, and a generous heart. Unfortunately instead of appreciating what he had, he instead concentrated only on what he perceived to be his faults: he was too short, not muscular enough, not rugged enough, and the list went on and on. In short, he thought any man alive was better than him.
If he could he would have given everything to be any man but who he was. And so he would go to sleep at night always dreaming of men he envied, of men he yearned to be and always destined to be disappointed that his dreams would not come true.
Morning always came but bright sunshine neither penetrated into the darkness of his room nor indeed into his very soul. He isolated himself in the darkness, never feeling worthy enough to face the world outside. So, obsessed with his shortcomings, he was a tortured soul living in the agony of a self-made purgatory, always comparing himself to the models, movie stars, and muscled men he worshipped from afar.

Seanday Shorts: Liquid Soul
It had been a good haul, two jocks both with clean backstories. A great setup in the campus grounds--they shared a dorm in one of the largest blocks.
I made a FaceTime call. "Hey look who I picked up a few minutes ago; Tony Shultz and Dan McKenzie." I shifted the camera to show the two sleeping jocks.
"How the hell did you get them? They're like the two top players in the football team."
I grinned at the camera. "These guys have a lot of power and influence, even if they don't know it yet. We've got a chance to change things, get followers, and make that social army we've always talked about."

Seanday Request: The Alpha Card
Story requested by chat room @Guest 67
I gazed at the guy taking the picture, lips slightly parted giving that stoned look David always had. I'd taken him a few hours earlier as he stumbled into the restroom--made him into a suit. Didn't take long to slip inside him--hardly a challenge.
The barman handed back the phone. "Cheers mate," Tony chirped looking over the top of his mirrored sunglasses.
"Take these before I drink them," I slurred holding out the bottles to Tony and Steve, who bumped into me as he got to his feet. "Hey watch out you muppet."
Steve pushed me again, "Shut up," he yelled and snatched the bottle from my hand.
I scowled at him. David's body felt awkward as I scratched his fair hair. He was definitely the ugly duckling of the group and almost everyone picked on him.

Seanday Switch: Another Face
Leaning on the sink I glared at the reflection in the mirror. "Mikey," I whispered. "What does it feel like to see yourself again?"
Reaching up I traced a finger across my face. "Huh, I almost forgot what you looked like. Handsome, strong and angry--oh so angry."
The face looking back at me lifted its chin, "You mother fucker, I should kill you."
"You might be the strongest in your family, stronger than your brothers and your papa, but you wasn't smartest were you?"
"Fucker."

Seanday Shorts: Pick and Mix
I was at the Arnold Classic looking for some fresh meat--I mean seriously? Where else would you look for guys that have been preening themselves for months--just for these few days. Prime Beef.
The brief was simple, I'd arranged to meet two people at the show looking for new bodies; one young, and the other a fuck-off huge guy. I hated pushing in public places, it was such a risk which is why I needed cover.
Waiting by the doors, I watched the people filter through. I had to choose carefully, then I saw him. Shaking my head, I couldn't believe my luck.
Steve, a nineteen-year-old student, had just walked through the doors. I recognised him immediately from his Instagram site--I knew he had good connections.
I weaved through the crowds and followed him down on the escalators. Damn, I was close enough to smell him--and that was awesome! A thick back, massive shoulders which tapered down to a lean, narrow waist. I glanced around and scowled at the person behind me.
Seanday Shorts: Family Ties
"Smile." I looked over and Craig snapped a picture using his expensive mobile. He swiped at the screen and grinned at the image. "Damn I look good," he said.
Behind us, someone sounded their horn. Craig frowned and looked in the mirror. "Come'n the lights are green," I said.
The horn went again, and he dropped his sunglasses down to scowl at the driver behind. "I got this," he snarled and got out.
I looked over my shoulder, Craig was a huge guy. Maybe 5'11" and 230lb of muscle. He slowly walked towards the other car, a confident swagger in his step with the red shirt stretched taught across his shoulders. In the car, I could see the man pale as panic swept over his face.
Seanday Shorts: Almost There
I looked in the mirror and took a picture, this was the best one so far.
Using the torch on the phone I flicked it across his eyes. He winced, and blinked a couple of tines--the reactions were good.
His back was broad and torso was strong. He was perfect.
"I think this is going to work," I whispered excitedly.
Seanday Shorts: Whey to go!
Jocks, such an easy target.
Take Ty here, sure thought he was smart. Kept all his details private, just posted a few pictures but when I saw them--I knew I needed to be him.
Baiting the trap was easy, these seniors were always looking help with their supplements. So I sent an email seeing if he wanted sponsorship, and sat back and waited.
Sure enough, a day or so later I got an email. I told him that he looked like the kind of guy I was looking for; strong, athletic--an achiever to help promote our new Whey product. He leapt at the offer, but I told him that it was a prototype and he shouldn't mention it to anyone--just yet.
He willingly gave me his address, and I sent the product over to him--tainted, of course.
I got a report from him saying that it was great, he sent a picture as well. I licked my lip, knowing within 24hrs that'll be me staring into the camera.
