I wouldn't say I was bad, hell, some people would call me nice. Well maybe.
I'm always looking to make an easy buck, and not afraid to step on anyone to get it. I guess you'd blame my parents, and I'd probably agree with you.
I was brought up on a ranch--as soon as I was able to talk they told me that I was an unwanted child. It wasn't until I was older that I really understood what they meant.
They treated me like staff, he'd give me a wage and she'd take it away telling me it was for room and board. As soon as I was old enough I ran away--to the city.
I spent years running, trying to put as many miles between me and the people I hated.
I'd settled in Kirkborough, a small town near to the Mexico border where the people were friendly. I'd got into a routine working for a living--in a coffee shop, although this time I was on a wage where I could afford a room and have some money left over.
My life changed when I saw Zack Selland crossing the road--I recognised him from the shop--he was a cool dude always friendly.
I'd been sitting on a bench he glanced over and I waved, he looked confused--as if he'd never seen me before. As he broke in a jog his wallet fell from his pocket. I shouted out, but he ignored me.
Picking up the wallet, I flipped through it--easily $500--WOW! If he was a nobody then the cash would be making my life easier but he always tipped well. I looked up and saw him turn a corner, and I gave chase.
He was fast, he was always just turning a corner as started to catch up. Finally I glimpsed him run through a gate into a back yard. I followed him--cautiously. This wasn't the sort of district I'd expected Zack to live.
"Hello?" I called, but there was no reply. As I ventured further into the house I came across a his discarded shirt. Looking up the hallway I could see some trainers. I followed the trail of clothes, I called out again--no reply.
It was obvious that he was in the house, but why didn't he reply? I kept telling myself that I should leave, but maybe I was just curious or concerned.
At a doorway, the last of the clothes--his pants. I looked around the corner, and ducked back again. Zack was standing in front of a mirror completely naked. I wondered if I should just leave the wallet and go. But I heard a groan, an unearthly gargle of a groan. I wondered if he was in pain or something.
I looked again, only to see Zack's impressive physique twist and fade into something a lot smaller. As I watched his skin tone tuned to a shocking pink. From his reflection a white line appeared down his front, his hair completely vanished.
His had reached for the top of his head, fumbling at the White strip. It grasped at something and pulled. Where Zack's head was parted--a zipper? He pulled it all the way down, pulling the suit apart revealing it's occupant--Milo Vanceez.
Milo was a low grade con artist, no older than nineteen. This had to be his parents house, he had a bad reputation and had frequently embarrassed his family.
He looked up and spotted me at the door. "What the fuck are you doing here?"
"What have you done with Zack," I demanded as I strode towards him.
He held up his hands, "Nothing man, he's fine--I swear."
I towered over him, pulling at the fabric of the suit. "What the fucks this? I saw you change."
He looked at me nervously edging away. "It's a faker," he stammered. "Makes you look like other people."
"How does it work?" I growled nodding my chin at the suit.
"You just zip it up, and think about the person you want to be. I don't know how it does it."
"And Zack?"
"I dunno, he just disappears when I look like him. When I change back to myself he re-appears two days later."
I smiled and Milo made a break for it. I was quick and tripped him, he slammed head first into the door and crumpled to the floor--unconscious.
He was smaller than me, by an inch or two but I'd seen him transform from Zack's six foot stature. I pulled off my clothes, down to my shorts. I pulled the suit off Milo and held it up, this must have been a medium. As quick as I could I pulled it on struggling to get my legs and arms inside. I pulled it over my shoulders trying not to rip it, in the mirror I looked ridiculous.
I took the zipper and pulled it up, tight across my chest and over my face. I was surprised that I could still see; turning I looked at Milo motionless on the floor. I thought about wanting to be Milo, a tingle crept across my skin and suddenly the room started to look larger. I blinked a couple of times as Milo's body shimmered and faded.
In the mirror, Milo looked back at me--I was Milo. Somehow I remembered Milo's day, he'd found the suit only a week ago. He'd played a few people already but for the past five days he'd been Zack.
There was a call from the doorway, it was Milo's mom. She was holding the collection of Zack's clothes. "Milo, I've told you a hundred times. Pick up after yourself," she snapped dropping the clothes in the bathroom.
I blushed and grabbed a towel covering myself. "Sorry mom," I replied, a little startled hearing Milo's voice from my lips. She left muttering under her breath.
Pulling on some shorts, I collected the clothes and retired to Milo's room. Turning the corner I bumped into heavy set guy wearing a black t-shirt. I recognised him as Milo's brother Derek. "Get out of my way you little weasel," he snarled.
I'm not sure if it was Milo's memory or my initial feeling but I knew he was a jerk. Sadly I knew he was also an alpha, he was short stocky and muscular--a trait in the men of the family.
He slammed into his room, and his mobile rang. I paused by the door. I overheard talk about a drinking party with the rest of the football team. Sounds like fun, I murmured to myself.
Throwing the clothes into Milo's room I walked into Derek's room. "What the fuck do you want?" He growled.
"I wanna be like my big brother, and go to the party," I smirked.
He flexed an arm as he laid on the bed. "No chance, you'll always be a weasel," he cruelly laughed.
I smiled tightly. "I don't care what you think, I'm going be you, take it all."
"What the fuck are you talking about?"
I thought about being Derek, his dark cropped hair, beard and heavy set physique. I felt myself start to change again, my arm prickled as his tattoo formed on my new bicep. Derek's eyes grew wide, as he started to fade into nothing. The clothes he was wearing dropped to the bed.
I flexed already knowing how to get the most from Derek's body. Picking up the items from the bed I got dressed, Derek knew his body well and always picked clothes that emphasised his best attributes.
Recalling the conversation on the mobile, I looked at my new watch clipping it in place. I had to pick up Josh and Matt before heading to the party.
Leaving the room I paused at the kitchen. "Mom, I'm going to a party. I'll see you tomorrow sometime maybe."
"Ok, have fun honey," she replied.
"Oh, I'm dropping the weasel off at one of his boyfriends," I lied, it would explain his disappearance for the next couple of days.
She looked at me and tipped her head, "Derek don't say things that, he's your brother."
"Yeah, whatever," I muttered and left chuckling to myself.
Damn, this was going to be a sweet ride. I could use this suit for the rest of my life--nobody would ever miss me.

Interesting story. Good use of the picture of the guy in the pink suit.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bill, can I put you down for one of the suits?
ReplyDeleteI always knew you were having fun being other people. You could have shared with the rest of us.
ReplyDeleteyes having a suit would be fun
ReplyDeleteJust a side note, wouldn't your titles look a bit more snazzy if they were "Seanday Brunch" instead of Lunch? Just saying. ;)
ReplyDeleteBut you liked the story?
ReplyDeleteI'll try and mix it up, try harder :/
;)
I should mass produce them :)
ReplyDeleteYes please! Send it express and maybe I'll come give you a treat ;)
ReplyDeleteCould someone on here write me a hypothetical story where a gay man switches bodies with moot, also known by the name Christopher Poole? Google him if you do not know of him. He is the founder of 4chan.
