“Ummm… ok,” said Bryan, taking a step back from the bodybuilder, “Yeah… I think the pecs are even now. Yeah, definitely. That looks much better. Hm. You know, you’re just gonna have to be really careful out there, Steven. At least until we can get this suit fixed. I don’t know why that left pec keeps sagging, but it should at least hold up through this competition, all right, Champ?”
“Bryan,” said Steven, “I’m getting really tired of this, you know. How much money are we making off of these competitions? And it all depends on how good I look out there on the stage, my friend. If anybody ever finds out about this, we’ll be kicked out of the sport forever, and you know that. Now you better hope like hell these pecs hold up, because after this show, I am not competing again until you put in some money to get these suits repaired the way that they need to be. Find another poser if you want until then, but I won’t keep risking my reputation like that.”
“Steven,” said Bryan, “Steven, buddy. Look, it’s in the works, all right? Just go out there and win me this show tonight, and then I promise I’ll get the suits in to be fixed up first thing next week. All of ‘em. All right? Now let’s go hit the pump room and get you oiled up. What do you say, huh?”
“All right,” said Steven, “But you really gotta promise me, man.”
“I promise,” said Bryan, placing his hand on Steven’s shoulder, “But first, you’ve got a competition to win!”
