I was a loner, I had no family but I had money; and it was true – money doesn’t buy happiness.
I had travelled the world learning from mystics from many different cultures, and I had found a way to make a new life for myself. All I had to do was to find the right “vessel”.
I remember the moment; I was on an internal fight when I saw this jock. He must of been about 23yrs and he looked like he was on leave with the rest of his “jarhead” buddies seated around him.
He turned and looked at me, and it was at this time I used the skills I had learnt. I looked him in the eyes, and time stood still for him. I looked deeper into his soul, images flashed through my mind. The parties he’d enjoyed; his time in the army and his life at home, I knew it was something I needed.
I took a couple of breaths and slipped out of the bonds of my own flesh and blood, and slipped into John. Only seconds had passed, but I had merged with John, in fact I was John. I blinked a couple of times and realised I was looking at my old body, I turned and looked back out of the window as we prepared to land.
Suddenly there was a scream from behind me, and a lot of attendants rushed over, I asked them what the problem was but I knew the answer already, a guy had died of a heart attack a few seats back.
I leaned back in my seat and pulled my sunglasses down knowing I’d made the right choice...
