It was 2114, and my life was in tatters. I'd been accused of killing a tourist through neglect. It’s like trial by proxy, one robo-guide droids had malfunctioned and driven into a rock face. The tourist who'd rented the robo-guide hadn't buckled up and been killed. In this country, it's the droid's owner that is ultimately responsible, and I was up for termination. But I was on the run, into the desert heading for an empty checkpoint I knew.
Inside the checkpoint, I sent for one of the droids: Marcus. About thirty minutes later there was a gentle tap on the door. "Sir, are you there?" I recognised the soft gentle tones of the Mk226b. One of the most advanced models on my list, and the most realistic.
I opened the door, and Marcus stood there, his soft brown synthetic eyes had a relaxing effect on me. "Come inside quickly," I muttered looking around to see if he was followed.
"How can I help?" Marcus asked, in a soft unflustered tone.
"How old are you?"
"Three years since manufacture," he replied.
"And ageless," I added. "Strip."
Without question Marcus removed his clothes, a stylised wrap/scarf, nomad shirt and jeans.
I had six of the Mk226b models on my books, all identical. They were bio-based a soft outer skin with a hard wearing ceramic inner frame. "Lay face down," I ordered, and he complied.
Gently I picked at his neck and slid a finger in when a seam appeared. Now with two fingers I worked my way down his back revealing the white ceramic under-skeleton.
I asked it to sit on a chair. Gently I pulled at the back of his head, sh---luck, the suction released and soft mask rolled off its head. I could see its true eyes now, cameras. I pulled slowly on the remainder of the face; I heard a soft plop, plop as two connected bulbs pulled out of the droids mouth. It’s what gave this model its unique voice.
Pulling the skin further down revealed the droids torso and arms. A disc of light: its power source glowed in the centre of his chest. Asking it to stand, I was able to get the droid out of the remainder of the skin.
"Can you help me?" I asked the droid. It nodded, only because it now had no voice.
Removing my own clothes, I started to pull on the droid's skin. It helped steady me as it offered up each leg, I pushed hard to get my own foot and toes into the hollow skin. The tightness supported my ageing body as I pulled it up past my waist. It pinched as I pushed my own dick into the suits sheath.
My arms pushed down into the sleeves, I flexed and stretched impressed as I was becoming more like Marcus every second.
Standing behind me the droid pulled at the skins shoulders and started to seal the back from the base of my spine. A Cold finger slid against my skin the further up the droid worked, I shivered when it reached my neck. I knew my transformation was almost complete.
I looked down at the inside out face hanging down from my new shoulders. The white bulbs connected to the interior of the masks mouth by tubes, the inside his warm brown eyes.
The droid offered up its old face, and I put the first of the white bulbs into my mouth and swallowed, I gagged a little and swallowed again as the tubes drew the second of the bulbs down my throat. Gasped again as the masks inner mouth was drawn into mine. Thankfully I felt the tubes in my throat open, and I was able to breathe again.
The droid pulled the remainder of the mask over my face, my eyes watered as its soft brown ones settled into mine. Behind me, I can felt the droid sealing me in completely.
I blinked as the droid guided me over to the only mirror. Staring back was a robo-guide model Mk226b 'Marcus'.
I touched my new face, tracing the masculine features down my cheek, neck, pecs and waist. "Perfect," I said and paused. "I'm perfect," I said again realising I'm now speaking in the soft gentle tones of the droid.
I get dressed in the clothes Marcus arrived in, and the transformation is complete. Outside the droid helped me push my own car over a cliff. I hide the droid itself in a cave, thank it for its service and remove its power cell.
Returning to the base in Marcus's car I sit with the other five identical Mk226b robo-guides and wait.
I'd arranged for the 'Marcus' droid to be shipped to the USA, once there I'd slip under the radar and set myself up as "Marcus DeMellio", knowing this type of droid was rare in the country passing the identity off as human should be easy.
