James adjusted his glasses, the device he'd just used to swap into David--one of the schools top football players.

He smiled and looked at the body he'd just vacated, Anne Laschensky. She blinked a couple of times, and smiled at James, "Nice glasses."

"Yeah hipster style," he chuckled. It had been a craze going around all the school, they'd all been wearing them although these ones were different.

    ---

Only an hour ago an insignificant nerd carefully laser cut a sigil into the inside of the lens of these $1.99 glasses. He posted them through the letter box of Anne Laschensky--a cheerleader. Returning home he went to work on a second pair of glasses were he etched a matching sigil and placed them on his nose, he laid on his bed and waited.

Suddenly his point of view changed, instead of looking at the ceiling of his bedroom he was looking at the reflection of Anne in the mirror. She had put the glasses on, and now he was in control.

She smiled and left to find James, the nerd knew he could persuade the jock to try on the glasses if he looked like Anne.

    ---

James felt a hardness in his jeans, this was just the start. He just needed to keep the glasses on, otherwise he'd lose control.

I smiled as I watched him coming to the realisation he was in a foreign body.
'Thanks man," I said, "you've helped me out no end" and went to slam the truck door. "With my brain in your body there's no telling what I can't achieve now!"
I heard the door close and muttered "And with your dumb jock brain in my nerdy body, good luck, 'cos you're gonna need it!"
Jock brain regardless I was glad he'd had a sense of curiosity, and come over to the truck with its hazards flashing and me slumped in the passenger seat. With the spell I'd found he only needed to touch me for the swap to take place, and touch me he did, presumably to check if I was still breathing.
I couldn't feel sorry for him - not the way he'd relentlessly pilloried me in pt classes from Day One; sure I was useless at sport, but that didn't make me a lesser person.
And then to steal the credit for the work I'd done in our study group.. well, that convinced me I had to get my own back..
Thank god for that kindly old gypsy who saw what was happening in her crystal ball when I went to see her.. she gave me the spell and here I am, running in the forest like the athlete he had always been, no sign of the wheezing my old body would have been doing (at the same time I was solving our Maths homework in my head).
I smiled again to myself, he'd tried to better himself by stealing from me.. now I'd stolen the very thing that had made him him, his outer shell and identity. With me in charge he truly would be a better man!!!

  5. For picture 2:
It had been ages since I had last visisted Sam. We'd written letters, and kept up on Facebook sometimes, but this would be the first time we'd actually see each other since graduation. We'd shared a good 4 years in college for Horticulture, and although our careers had split us up, we were eager to relive the "good 'ol days".

Sam lived way out in Alberta, Canada, working on a huge plantation with his parents. It had been a family business, so he'd had a job right out of school. I on the other hand had been less lucky. The job market was shit, so I was trying my luck working for Sam's Parents. Best part was, I didn't need to pay rent or board because I'd be staying with Sam.

"Excited for tomorrow?" Sam had pondered out loud before we headed to bed.

"It's bound to be interesting, knowing you" I quickly replied. He smirked and we went silent. No sooner had we fallen asleep, did I hear the early rising roaster making its morning calls.

We both showered up and went to meet the rest of Sam's family for an early breakfast; the O'Reilly clan. His father sat at the head of the table, and down the narrow end sat four of Sam's brothers. They were all older than Sam and I, and much more muscular. I suspected it was from all the work they did on the farm. Sam and I sat across from them with his mother.

"Sam, you and your friend are going to be working as Tim and Jackson in C section today. I want that entire plot worked."

"Alright Dad," Sam said firmly to his father. He then looked to his brother's across the table. "What are you guys doing today then?"

Almost like a child, the eldest of the brothers drew something from below the table.

"We're playing through Call of Honour XI!" he exclaimed.

The eldest, Tim, seemed off. He was a 30-something-year-old man, yet he had the spirit of a child.

"Well we might as well switch now" Sam stated," I wanna get the milking done early today." With that Sam stood up, and his two brother, Tim and Jackson joined him. He motioned for me to follow him downstairs to the basement.

Once downstairs, we curved through some cooridoors till we came across a room with a large machine in it. I entered in awe, but to the O'Reillys, this was nothing new.

"I guess I'll go first" Sam said as he grabbed Tim, and hooked him up to one end of the machine. He then attached himself in, pressed some buttons, and the two of them passed out.

Within seconds they were awake again, but you could see the change. Sam's confident smirk was splashed across Tim's face, while Tim's childish nature was almost bursting from Sam.

"You see, I never was strong or fit like my brothers" Sam stated. "So my dad had this shipped over. With it, my brothers get some downtime in my body, while I get to work in their bodies." He flexed slighly. "It's much more efficient than having ME bale hay."

"Alright" I said in slight disbelief, but then I looked over to Jackson. He was obviously who I was "working as" today. He was very fit, you could see his muscular body pressing against his shirt. His dark hair was cropped short, and his smile spoke the confidence that his younger brother Sam did.

I stepped into one end of the machine where Sam had been, and Jackson in the other. It was a quick jolt, everything went black, and then quickly came back. Except this time I was in the opposite side of the machine.

Sam saw his brothers out, now in our bodies, while I took the chance to get use to my new physique. Everything was bigger, and I was definitely taller, so my perspective was off.

"You ready?" Sam said in a much older voice. I only nodded as we headed out the door to his company truck.

"Its gonna be a hot day" Sam said, "best we keep cool". He took off his shirt and motioned for me to do the same.

This was going to be the best summer job ever.

  8. Thanks Bill, praise means a lot coming from you (& Sean too below). Usually like to add a twist but didn't think of one till later.. perhaps while he was solving the maths homework he'd suddenly not be able to recall if it was calculus or calculii, and then his spelling or grammar would get a little slack, both hinting of an impending loss of his own mind's sharpness.. never mind, you get what you get when you get an idea and write it before it has time to mature lol!

  9. Thanks for the compliment. One can certainly spend a lot of time writing and rewriting as different ideas come out. Try not to second guess yourself. Write the way that works best for you.
