Christmas Special (reposted from 2009)

Everyone knew Santa was a busy man, well at least for one night a year! but even a magical character like Santa grows tired and old. In fact Santa felt like this could be his last trip.
He was thinking it was time to share the Christmas spirit, and he didn’t mean the whisky left by so many welcoming homes.
Santa was already getting tired after the 30, 000th home, and  he had a couple of billion to go – he wasn’t sure if he was going to make it. Is heart saddened as he saw the faces of all the disappointed children..
He visited the next home and surprised a burglar; damn he had already cleared out most of the room and was taking the decorations from the tree.

Santa couldn’t really believe his eyes, he looked deep into Barry’s heart, it was dark; not light or goodness. Santa thought looking at his own circumstances and weighted up the odds; he knew that he could save Barry, it would be his special gift.
Santa gulped and collapsed inwards into his own suit, transforming himself into a true Christmas spirit. Barry turned to see the empty Santa’s suit and smiled “I could use that for some money scam” he laughed. What he didn’t see what the Santa’s fine mist drifting towards him.
Suddenly Barry left out a low groan as the gentle spirit slipped into Barry. He groaned again, and then felt a warmth as the spirit gently warmed his heart. He blinked a couple of times as he understood his new purpose.

Barry looked over to the red suit and stripped down to his boxers, the warmth spread through Barry’s body again and with a little help he realised his new purpose.
Barry was soon pulling on the red suit, damn it was really baggy now but he checked himself out in the mirror and smiled he didn’t look all that bad.

Santa knew he’d made the right choice, he snuggled down into Barry and pushed up, taking control. Santa flexed “Yeah this will work fine”

Replacing the tree decorations with care he smiled again as a huge sack of toys dropped from the chimney.
He easily lifted the sack and started to place presents in stockings and under the tree. He smiled again checking his work before disappearing up the chimney.

“Damn, with Barry helping me I think I can get this year finished early” he chuckled to himself.
Although Barry was just a passenger in his own body, the warmth of giving filled his heart – he was loving his new job.
Merry Christmas, have great holidays and an amazing New Year
